DIRECTIONS TO KLIPKRAAL FROM N1

• From direction Cape Town turn left at Matjiesfontein sign on N1. 
• Travel by tar road for 110km to Sutherland 
• Main Road is Piet Retief Street in Sutherland. 
• Drive down with Piet Retief Street
• Turn right into Sarel Cilliers street
• Keep straight passing the Total petrol station on your left 
• After about 6km Klipkraal’s remote entrance gate is on your left.

TRAVEL TIPS

• Obey road rules 
• Get permission to enter private land 
• Leave gates as found (open/closed) 
• Stay on farm roads and do not damage veld 
• Respect animal and plant life 
• Avoid fires at all times
• Do not litter 

GRAVEL ROAD TIPS

• Reduce speed to about 80km / h 
• Switch vehicle headlights on to be visible in dusty conditions 
• Watch out for sheep and wild animals in the road 
• Beware of unexpected blind turns - locally called crook 
• Stay focused - the lack of traffic can make you feel at ease 
• Beware of residents who know the road well and drive fast 
• Mostly no cell phone signal
• Take enough spare wheels. Make sure the tensioners and jack are right
